The box office success of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 continues, and Paramount is enticing fans back to theaters with a special offer. This Saturday, December 28th, moviegoers can snag a free, exclusive collector’s print with their Sonic the Hedgehog 3 ticket at participating locations. Designed by Doaly, the print showcases Shadow shattering glass, with reflections of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles visible in the shards.
This marks the second Sonic the Hedgehog 3 promotional print from Paramount. Earlier this year, a different print featuring Shadow on his motorcycle was offered to those who saw Transformers One in theaters. This earlier promotion coincided with the release of the first Sonic 3 trailer, months before the film’s premiere. This new Doaly print is a completely separate design, offering a fresh collectible for fans who already obtained the first.
The availability of these Doaly prints remains uncertain. With holiday weekend crowds expected, it’s unclear if Paramount has produced enough prints to meet demand. Families and long-time Sonic fans alike will likely fill theaters this weekend. Hopefully, Paramount is prepared and sufficient quantities are available for all interested collectors. While an art print might seem like a small gesture, it’s a valuable addition for dedicated Sonic fans.
Shadow’s Prominence in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Marketing
Shadow the Hedgehog has played a key role in the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 marketing campaign. The film draws heavily from Sonic Adventure 2, the Dreamcast game that introduced Shadow, while taking some creative liberties. Sega declared 2024 the “Year of Shadow,” highlighting the character’s significance. Even as the year concludes, Shadow’s spotlight continues. The Game Awards recently showcased a teaser trailer for a new Sonic game, slated for a potential 2025 release, featuring Shadow exclusively, further demonstrating his current popularity.
