A Deep Dive into Tetris History
A recently released trailer showcased the 15 games included in Tetris Forever. The collection features the original version released for the Electronika 60 computer, alongside the multiplayer Tetris Battle Gaiden. Other classics like the bomb-focused Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss and the unique hat-stacking game Hatris are also part of the lineup. Adding a modern twist, Tetris Time Warp allows four players to warp through different eras while playing.
More Than Just a Collection
Beyond the games themselves, Tetris Forever offers a comprehensive interactive museum experience. Featuring 90 minutes of documentary footage, virtual archives, advertisements, and other artifacts, the collection delves deep into the history of Tetris. This approach echoes Digital Eclipse’s previous work on Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration (2022) and The Making of Karateka (2023). Atari acquired Digital Eclipse late last year for $20 million. The studio is also known for its work on Volgarr the Viking 2, a sequel to the challenging 2D retro game released in 2013.
A Celebration of Tetris
Tetris Forever isn’t just a collection of games; it’s a celebration of a timeless classic. With its diverse range of titles, historical content, and modern additions, it promises to offer a captivating experience for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Mark your calendars for November 12th and get ready to experience Tetris in a whole new way.
