Fallout 76 players received an unexpected holiday gift: a double XP boost active until December 30th. This bonus wasn’t initially listed on the community calendar, which typically outlines planned events and updates. While double XP might not be a game-changer for seasoned players, it offers a welcome boost for those still leveling their characters.
Bethesda officially announced the double XP event via Twitter/X on December 26th, after players noticed the bonus active in-game. This unscheduled bonus contrasts with the usual adjustments to the event schedule, which more often involve replacements due to technical issues rather than additions.
The community calendar, released alongside the Gleaming Depths update and Season 19, details planned events through March 2025. Recent events include a Double Score and Gold Rush Weekend. While the current calendar didn’t initially include this double XP event, similar bonuses are featured elsewhere in the schedule.
