The Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket has launched a new limited-time event, the Genetic Apex SP Emblem Event 1. Players can earn exclusive emblems by achieving consecutive wins against online opponents. Four emblems are up for grabs: Participation (2 wins), Bronze (3 wins), Silver (4 wins), and the coveted Gold emblem (5 wins). These emblems, obtainable until December 16th at 12:59 a.m., can be proudly displayed on a player’s profile.

The challenge of securing five consecutive wins for the Gold emblem is significant. While skill plays a crucial role in the Pokémon TCG, luck is also a factor, influencing card draws and coin flips. News of the event leaked in mid-November, sparking discussions among fans about the difficulty. Ultimately, the emblems primarily offer bragging rights. Players who don’t achieve the Gold emblem won’t miss out on essential gameplay elements, but those who succeed will have a prestigious badge to display.

Beyond Emblems: Additional Rewards and Missions

Alongside the emblems, the event features missions rewarding players with Shinedust and other items simply for participating in online battles. This offers a consolation for players who manage a few consecutive wins but fall short of the Gold emblem. The community’s response to the event will be interesting to observe, potentially influencing The Pokémon Company’s approach to future events.

New Booster Packs on the Horizon

Collectors have something to look forward to this month as well, with new booster packs scheduled for release. While the official launch date remains unconfirmed, previous datamines suggest a December 16th release, coinciding with the end of Emblem Event 1. The contents of these booster packs remain a mystery, but The Pokémon Company has confirmed that players can continue collecting Genetic Apex booster packs as new cards are added.
