Several classic Sega Xbox 360 titles have been removed from the Xbox Marketplace as of December 6th, impacting Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X users. While those who already own these digital versions can still download and play them, they are no longer available for purchase digitally. Physical copies may exist for some titles, but their availability and price will vary.

The 12 delisted games, all previously available through Xbox Live Arcade, include: Altered Beast, Crazy Taxi, SEGA Genesis Classics, Golden Axe, Monster World, Nights Into Dreams, SEGA Bass Fishing, Shinobi, Sonic the Fighters, Streets of Rage, SVC: ToeJam & Earl, and Virtua Fighter 2.

It’s possible these games may resurface in future collections, remasters, or remakes. However, their individual availability in their original Xbox 360 format on the digital marketplace is unlikely.

Users who have already purchased these titles can rest assured that they retain access. Although no longer available for purchase, these games remain downloadable for those who own them.

Some of the delisted franchises, like Crazy Taxi, Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage, are expected to continue with new installments currently in development. Other franchises, however, have been inactive for some time and are now even harder to access.

Sega has not released an official statement regarding the delisting, leaving the reasons open to speculation. We will update this story if any official explanation emerges.
