The TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G, announced at CES 2025, marks the first time TCL’s innovative Nxtpaper display technology will be available in the United States. This groundbreaking technology aims to blend advanced screen features with digital wellness, offering a comfortable viewing experience even during extended use.

TCL’s Nxtpaper technology reduces blue light and glare, mitigating potential eye strain. Previous Nxtpaper devices, like the TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G, weren’t available in North America. The 60 XE changes this, finally bringing this eye-friendly technology to US consumers.

A standout feature is the Nxtpaper Key, activating Max Ink Mode. This mode transforms the display to resemble an e-ink screen, ideal for reading. Max Ink Mode also extends battery life up to a week for reading and silences notifications for a focused experience.

Remarkably, the TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G is priced at just $199. It will launch in Canada in May 2025, with a US release planned for later in the year.

The predecessor, the TCL 50 XE Nxtpaper 5G, received positive reviews, particularly for its comfortable display. While the Nxtpaper display isn’t as vibrant as OLED screens, it excels in text readability. The 60 XE’s upgraded 120Hz refresh rate promises even smoother performance compared to the 50 XE’s 90Hz.
