Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A56 shortly after the Galaxy S25 series debuts on January 22nd. This new mid-range phone is positioned to compete directly with Google’s Pixel 8a, offering a compelling blend of features and performance. Recent certifications in China suggest an imminent release, at least for the Chinese market, providing further insight into the A56’s specifications and design.

Previous rumors point to the Exynos 1580 chipset powering the Galaxy A56. The rear camera setup is expected to boast a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP depth sensor. A robust 5,000mAh battery is also anticipated, and in a groundbreaking move for the Galaxy A series, the A56 is rumored to support 45W fast charging.

These substantial upgrades position the Galaxy A56 as a significant improvement over its predecessor, the Galaxy A55, which launched in March 2024. The A55 faced criticism for its awkward fold, lack of wireless charging, and other shortcomings.
