The highly anticipated action RPG, Path of Exile 2, has received a new update, version 0.1.0f, addressing several bugs and improving overall gameplay stability. This update, available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC, comes approximately one month after the game’s initial launch and focuses primarily on resolving issues related to gameplay mechanics, monster behavior, specific skills, and crashes, particularly on the PS5 platform.

While previous weeks saw a slowdown in patch releases, likely due to the holiday season, Grinding Gear Games has resumed updates with this latest patch. Although not a major content update, the 0.1.0f patch provides crucial bug fixes that enhance the player experience. The developers have also acknowledged the need for further improvements to Strongboxes, promising changes in an upcoming patch.

This update targets a range of issues, including problems with Delirium mist, Time-Lost Jewels, character stat calculations, and specific monster encounters. Key fixes include resolving an issue where Rare monsters could prematurely pause Delirium mist, leading to problems with mirror spawns and mist expansion. Additionally, adjustments have been made to the duration of the Delirium mist pause when opening Strongboxes.

Other notable fixes address bugs related to Life Remnants, skill functionality, and quest progression. For example, an issue where overcapped life from Life Remnants would be reset upon changing maximum life has been resolved. Furthermore, bugs affecting the projectiles of Zalmarath, the Colossus, Rolling Slam’s aftershocks, and Ritual Altar activation have also been addressed. A bug preventing the completion of the Mad Wolf of Ogham quest under certain circumstances has also been rectified.

Addressing more technical issues, the update resolves a client crash related to Demon Form during the Zarokh, the Temporal encounter. Another crash associated with Fiery Death Support in party play has also been fixed. Finally, the patch tackles a PlayStation 5 specific client crash, improving stability on that platform.

Beyond bug fixes, this update also includes adjustments to the interaction between Time-Lost Jewels and modifier effects. Specifically, the “increased effect of small Passive Skills in Radius” on Time-Lost Jewels is no longer affected by increases and reductions to modifier effect, such as those granted by The Adorned Unique Jewel. This change ensures more consistent and predictable behavior for these items.

Another important fix addresses a bug related to character stats. Previously, changing maximum life, energy shield, or mana through equipping or unequipping items could inadvertently increase current life, energy shield, mana, or their overcapped values. This issue has been resolved, ensuring accurate stat tracking and preventing unintended stat inflation.

Finally, the update improves the clarity of Precursor Tablet modifier descriptions. Previously, these descriptions would not display correctly when hovering over Maps within the radius of the completed Tower. This has been fixed, providing players with more complete information about the effects of Precursor Tablets.

For players seeking a more comprehensive overview of the changes, the full patch notes are provided below. This update, while focused on bug fixes and stability improvements, demonstrates Grinding Gear Games’ ongoing commitment to refining and enhancing the Path of Exile 2 experience.

Path of Exile 2 Update 0.1.0f Patch Notes

  • Fixed a bug where Rare monsters could pause Delirium mist for an extended period of time, even before touching the Mirror of Delirium. This could result in opening a mirror and having no monsters spawn, or the mist not expanding fully. In addition, Delirium mist is now paused for 10 seconds when opening a Strongbox (previously 5). Note that unrelated to Delirium Mist, further changes to Strongboxes will be made in an upcoming patch to make them less terrible.
