The latest patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 addresses several issues across Multiplayer and Zombies modes, including some controversial changes introduced in the previous update. This follows the recent integration of Squid Game-inspired modes, a collaboration that has brought both excitement and debate among players.
The Squid Game crossover introduced modes like Pentathlon and the iconic Red Light, Green Light, mirroring the hit Netflix show’s second season. While both the game and the show have enjoyed immense popularity, the Squid Game finale has been a source of ongoing discussion since its Christmas Day release.

While these new modes have been generally well-received, certain changes, particularly to the Shadow Rift mod and Directed Mode, sparked negative feedback. Players found the removal of Big Game’s lethal damage against Elites and the five-second zombie spawn delay after five looped rounds disruptive. In response, the Directed Mode changes have been reverted. Although the Big Game lethal damage has not been fully restored, four buffs to Shadow Rift have been implemented to increase its effectiveness against Elites without allowing one-shot kills.
The patch also addresses several other issues. Fixes have been applied to FX problems in Citadelle des Morts when using a sword with Aether Shroud. Balancing adjustments have been made to Dead Light, Green Light to increase difficulty. Liberty Falls has been added to the map rotation, with the development team committed to incorporating player feedback to fine-tune the round cap extension in the coming week. Fixes for speedrunning Terminus and the Vermin double-attack bug are planned for a future update.
