Adobe unveiled new AI-powered editing tools for Lightroom and Camera Raw at its Max Japan 2025 design conference, aimed at simplifying common photo editing tasks.
Adaptive Profiles, initially released last fall, is now available in both Lightroom and Camera Raw for color and monochrome HDR images. This AI-driven feature analyzes each image and dynamically adjusts tones and colors, providing a refined starting point for further editing. Rather than applying a uniform preset, Adaptive Profiles optimizes adjustments for individual images, impacting Exposure, Shadows, Highlights, Color Mixer, and Curves.

Another AI-powered tool, Distraction Removal, is currently in Early Access for Camera Raw and will soon be available in Lightroom. This feature intelligently identifies and removes distracting elements like reflections, crowds, or photobombers, streamlining the editing process.
Adobe is also introducing the Find Duplicates feature in Early Access for Lightroom on the web. This tool helps manage photo libraries by identifying and removing duplicate images, preventing accidental edits on the wrong version. Find Duplicates is integrated within the Clean Up tool, which also detects and removes blurred images and screenshots.
Lightroom mobile for iOS is getting several updates to improve photo sharing. The app will now automatically generate shareable links accessible to anyone, regardless of whether they have Lightroom. This link generation is also 75% faster. Users can easily choose how to share their images, including copying links, sharing on social media, or sending them directly to contacts. Release dates for these sharing features on Google and Samsung Lightroom apps are yet to be announced.
In conclusion, these AI-driven enhancements and workflow improvements in Adobe Lightroom and Camera Raw promise to save photographers valuable time and effort, allowing them to focus on the creative aspects of their work.
