OnePlus Watch 3 Launches with ECG, But Not for US and Canada

OnePlus Watch 3 Launches with ECG, But Not for US and Canada OnePlus Watch 3 Launches with ECG, But Not for US and Canada

The recently launched OnePlus Watch 3 boasts several impressive new features, including a highly anticipated ECG (electrocardiogram) analyzer, a function missing from its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2. However, this key health feature won’t be available to users in the United States and Canada. OnePlus confirmed to 9to5Google that the watch lacks the necessary certification from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for ECG functionality in these regions. Despite this regional limitation, all users, regardless of location, will gain access to the new “60-Second Health Check-In” feature, slated for release in the second quarter of this year.

Significant Upgrades from the OnePlus Watch 2

Priced at $329, the OnePlus Watch 3 offers significant upgrades over the OnePlus Watch 2. The display is a slightly larger 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED screen, boasting a peak brightness of 2,200 nits, a substantial improvement from the 1.43-inch, 600-nit display of its predecessor. This enhanced brightness ensures better visibility even in direct sunlight.

Improved Navigation and Design

Another notable improvement is the inclusion of a functional rotating crown for smoother navigation through menus and apps. This addresses a frequent complaint about the OnePlus Watch 2, where the crown functioned solely as a button. Furthermore, the OnePlus Watch 3 features a titanium bezel, offering increased durability and a lighter weight compared to the stainless steel bezel of the Watch 2.

Advanced Health and Fitness Tracking

Powered by Wear OS 5 and featuring an improved coprocessor, the OnePlus Watch 3 delivers enhanced battery life and numerous performance improvements. Its advanced health-related features are a standout, starting with the new 60-Second Health Check-In. This feature monitors multiple health metrics, including heart rate, SpO2 levels, vascular health, wrist temperature, sleep patterns, and overall physical and mental well-being.
