The leaked images, circulated on Threads and reported by Android Headlines, depict a handset resembling earlier renders. Notably, the device appears to sport a plastic build with a matte finish, similar to the Pixel 8a, rather than the more premium materials suggested in previous leaks. This isn’t entirely unexpected given the Pixel 8a’s $499 price point, which the Pixel 9a is also expected to maintain.
Under the hood, rumors suggest the Pixel 9a will boast the same Google Tensor G4 chip powering the rest of the Pixel 9 series, coupled with 8GB of RAM. Storage options are expected to include 128GB and 256GB variants, alongside a robust 5,100mAh battery.
Color options are anticipated to include Porcelain, Obsidian, Peony, and Iris. Peony is likely to mirror the color found on the Pixel 9, while Iris is rumored to be a new bluish-purple hue.
