The highly anticipated OnePlus Watch 3 launch has been postponed due to a production error. Initial units slated for release feature a typo on the rear casing, reading “Meda in China” instead of “Made in China.” This oversight has pushed the official launch back to April.
OnePlus Watch 3: Meda in China
Digital Trends has already reviewed a pre-production OnePlus Watch 3, noting the “Meda in China” error. The review highlights several improvements over the OnePlus Watch 2.
Design and Display Upgrades
The Watch 3 boasts a more premium aesthetic, featuring a titanium alloy bezel and a slightly larger 46.6mm case compared to the Watch 2’s 46mm size. It’s also marginally thinner and includes an upgraded LTPO AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 2,200 nits. A functional rotating crown simplifies navigation and software interaction.
Enhanced Health Tracking
The Watch 3 incorporates an upgraded PPG module and LED design for increased heart rate accuracy. A new “360 Mind and Body” feature provides comprehensive health insights.
Availability and Pricing
It’s unclear if the misprinted “Meda in China” units will ever see a release, or how many were produced. Their potential appearance on online marketplaces remains a possibility.
Despite the delay, the OnePlus Watch 3 is still available for pre-order on the OnePlus website for $329, with a pre-existing $50 discount.
Looking Ahead
The delay, while unfortunate, emphasizes OnePlus’s commitment to quality control. The corrected units are expected to ship in April. Stay tuned for further updates on the OnePlus Watch 3 release.
