The AI glasses hype train is gaining momentum, and Tecno is the latest passenger to board, introducing two innovative AI glasses at Mobile World Congress 2025. These new entries combine augmented reality (AR) features with hardware reminiscent of the Meta Ray-Bans, including a camera and speaker. Having had a brief hands-on experience with the Tecno AI Glasses Pro, I can say there’s a lot to be excited about. On paper, they appear to surpass the Even Realities G1 in several key areas. Here’s a closer look at the Tecno AI Glasses series.
Front-and-Center AR Display

The Tecno AI Glasses Pro boasts dual MicroLED screens with a 30-degree field of view and an impressive brightness exceeding 1,500 nits. While the Even Realities G1 offers a 25-degree field of view, these specifications don’t tell the whole story. My experience with the G1 was that the AR dashboard was positioned further away, minimizing interference with my natural vision. All functionalities, including navigation and the teleprompter, were comfortably distanced from my eyes, allowing me to stay focused on my surroundings.
Tecno has taken a different approach, placing the AR display directly in front of the user’s eyes. While larger, this isn’t necessarily better. I prefer a more ambient AR experience, where the digital information complements rather than dominates my view of the real world. Tecno’s front-and-center approach feels a bit too intrusive, resembling a smartphone screen rather than seamlessly integrated AR.
Functionality and Features

The Tecno AI Glasses Pro dashboard offers a suite of features: Teleprompter, Camera, Contacts, Music, Navigation, Translate, Ella (AI assistant), and Reminders, with a ninth option for Settings. While my hands-on time was limited, some of the issues I encountered with the Even Realities G1 seem to persist. For example, navigation relies on a proprietary service instead of Google Maps, which could hinder seamless integration and user experience. I also have reservations about the practicality of navigation with the Pro’s full-screen AR display.
Unlike the G1, the Tecno AI Glasses Pro features a built-in 50MP camera, touted as the highest resolution in any AI glasses. While megapixel count doesn’t guarantee image quality, it’s a promising feature. The camera supports photo and video capture, similar to the Meta Ray-Bans, with a 100-degree field of view. Tecno also promises a “SmartSnap” feature that automatically recognizes scenes and generates captions.
As expected, AI plays a central role. Tecno’s Ella AI assistant helps with planning activities, recommending restaurants, and summarizing information from multiple apps. Like the Meta glasses, the Tecno AI Glasses Pro can also identify objects and locations. Tecno claims an impressive battery life of over 11 hours for music playback and 8 hours of mixed use after just 30 minutes of charging. These are ambitious claims that I look forward to testing. The glasses also include a speaker for music listening, along with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity.
A Second Model: Tecno AI Glasses
Tecno AI Glasses Pro stems.
Alongside the Pro model, Tecno also introduced the standard Tecno AI Glasses. This version lacks a display, focusing on the camera and speaker combination, similar to the Meta Ray-Bans. Without the AR display, features like navigation, translation, and the teleprompter are absent. However, both models offer object recognition and information summarization.
Both models are constructed from aluminum alloy and ultra-light composite materials, with IPX4 sweat resistance. However, aesthetically, they don’t quite match the sleekness of the Meta Ray-Bans or the Even Realities G1. During my brief trial, the AI Glasses Pro felt comfortable and lightweight. The controls were responsive but lacked the polish of existing products. Both models are available in Eyebrow Frame and Aviator Style designs.
The Missing Piece: The Case

Tecno has yet to reveal pricing and availability for its AI glasses. A crucial aspect of any wearable is its charging case. Wearables are lifestyle devices, and the charging case should integrate seamlessly into a user’s daily routine. The Meta Ray-Bans excel in this area, with a case that looks more like a fashion accessory than a tech gadget. For the Tecno AI Glasses Pro to succeed, it needs a similarly well-designed case.
The Tecno AI Glasses Pro offers a tantalizing glimpse into the future of AI-powered AR glasses. While pricing and availability remain unknown, Tecno has indicated that their AI Glasses series will be considerably less expensive than the Meta Ray-Bans. I’m eager to see how these glasses perform in real-world scenarios and how they stack up against the competition.
