The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is generating significant buzz, but potential early adopters might face disappointment. Expected to be officially unveiled next month, with a global launch shortly after, questions surrounding pricing and availability are now coming into focus.
Recent reports from Korean media outlet Financial News suggest the Galaxy S25 Edge will be priced competitively in South Korea, starting at 1,500,000 won (approximately $1,029 USD) for the 256GB model and 1,630,000 won (around $1,118 USD) for the 512GB variant. While these prices are lower than initial projections, international customers should anticipate slightly higher costs, as Samsung devices typically have lower price points in their home market.
This pricing strategy positions the Galaxy S25 Edge between the Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra. In Korea, the 256GB Galaxy S25 Plus retails for $928, while the 256GB Galaxy S25 Ultra is priced at $1,165. Comparatively, in the United States, these models are priced at $1,000 and $1,300 respectively, before any applicable discounts. Notably, a 1TB Galaxy S25 Edge model won’t be available at launch.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge side profile compared to Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25
Securing a Galaxy S25 Edge at launch might prove challenging. Reports from SamMobile indicate that initial supply will be extremely limited, estimated at only 40,000 units. To put this into perspective, Samsung sold an impressive 1 million Galaxy S25 units in Korea within the first 21 days of its release.
The Galaxy S25 Edge has been the subject of much speculation, positioned as a direct competitor to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air, slated for release later this year. This Samsung device is rumored to be among the slimmest smartphones on the market, potentially boasting a ceramic rear panel for enhanced durability. Leaked specifications suggest a 6.656-inch display and significant camera upgrades, with some rumors pointing to a 200-megapixel primary lens. Similar to other models in the Galaxy S25 lineup, the Edge is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
While Samsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company offered a tantalizing glimpse of the device at MWC Barcelona 2025 last week.
The official announcement is anticipated next month, with a market launch expected to follow in May.
