Dolby Atmos is transforming the in-car audio experience, offering remarkable sound quality in vehicles like the Rivian R1S and Cadillac Optiq. Cadillac is now expanding Dolby Atmos support across its entire electric vehicle (EV) lineup, including the Escalade IQL, Escalade IQ, Lyriq-V, Optiq, and Vistiq. Select 2025 models will also gain Atmos compatibility through an over-the-air update.
With Americans driving approximately 3 trillion miles annually, according to the Federal Highway Administration, in-car entertainment is becoming increasingly important. “Whether you are listening to music to pass the time on a long commute or sharing a special moment on a family road trip, music has the power to transform mundane moments into something remarkable,” notes John Couling, Senior Vice President of Entertainment at Dolby Laboratories. Cadillac Chief Engineer, John Cockburn, adds, “Together, [Cadillac and Dolby] are taking audio to new heights by ensuring the music experience stays true to the artist’s original vision, delivering a sound experience that makes consumers feel like they are in the music studio with them.”
Previously, Apple Music was the primary source for Dolby Atmos Music in Atmos-equipped cars. However, with the expansion of Atmos support in Cadillac’s 2026 EVs and select 2025 models, Amazon Music will also offer Dolby Atmos Music streaming. The rollout for Amazon Atmos support will begin with the Cadillac Optiq and Vistiq.
This broader availability of Dolby Atmos across Cadillac’s EV lineup and the addition of Amazon Music as a provider signifies a significant step forward in enhancing the in-car listening experience, offering drivers and passengers a more immersive and studio-quality sound.
