The OnePlus 13s, a compact alternative to the OnePlus 13, has been announced by OnePlus. This new phone caters to those who find the standard OnePlus 13 too large, a common complaint with many flagship smartphones. While promising, the initial availability of the OnePlus 13s appears limited to India.
OnePlus revealed the 13s on its Indian website and social media channels, showcasing two color options: dark grey and light pink. The phone boasts a 6.32-inch display, making it a compelling choice for users prioritizing a smaller form factor.
At its core, the OnePlus 13s features the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. This suggests potential configurations with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and potentially a substantial 1TB of storage, though these specifications remain unconfirmed. Beyond the processor and display size, OnePlus has remained tight-lipped about other key features.
However, the recently launched OnePlus 13T in China offers some clues. As a smaller variant of the flagship OnePlus 13, the 13T might share several specifications with the 13s. If this is a rebranded 13T, we could expect a 6,260mAh silicon-carbide battery, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 50MP rear camera, a 16MP front camera, and a weight of approximately 185 grams. The OnePlus 13T largely mirrors the specifications of the flagship OnePlus 13, so it’s plausible the 13s will follow suit.
Unfortunately, the OnePlus 13s seems destined for an India-exclusive release, at least initially. Given the targeted announcements, those outside India will need to wait and see if OnePlus expands availability to other regions.
