A recent leak from Benchlife suggests Nvidia’s RTX 50-series GPU lineup will launch in waves, potentially giving AMD and Intel a competitive edge. While the high-end RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5070 are expected in Q1 2025, the absence of the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 raises questions and opportunities for competitors.
Benchlife indicates a January 2025 launch for the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, coinciding with CES 2025 predictions. The RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 are also slated for a Q1 release, alongside the RTX 5090D, a China-exclusive variant of the RTX 5090. The absence of an RTX 5080D suggests the standard model meets export requirements.
Leaked specifications include 8,960 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR7 memory for the RTX 5070 Ti, and 6,400 CUDA cores, a 250W TDP, and 12GB of GDDR7 memory for the RTX 5070. Speculation remains about the RTX 5060’s VRAM, with rumors suggesting it might maintain 8GB.

Nvidia’s Q1 2025 launch covers the high-end and mainstream segments, but the delayed arrival of the RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 creates an opening for competitors. This delay aligns with reports of Nvidia halting production on most RTX 40-series cards except for the RTX 4060, possibly to bridge the gap until the RTX 5060’s release.
This scenario provides AMD and Intel a chance to capture the budget market share. With both companies targeting mainstream consumers and AMD’s flagship unlikely to surpass the RTX 5070 Ti, the delayed RTX 5060 reduces competitive pressure.
More information is expected soon. Nvidia is rumored to announce the RTX 50-series at CES 2025 in January, alongside AMD’s RDNA 4 reveal. Intel’s Battlemage GPUs might arrive even earlier, potentially launching in December.
