PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers should be aware of upcoming changes to the Game Catalog. As January 2025 approaches, 11 notable titles across PS5 and PS4 are set to leave the service. While Sony regularly refreshes the catalog with new additions, some games inevitably depart each month. This time, the departing list includes some heavy hitters, making it a “last chance to play” for subscribers.
The most prominent departure is arguably Capcom’s acclaimed Resident Evil 2 remake, a modern classic in the survival-horror genre. Capcom is also removing the Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary Collection. Square Enix also sees a number of its titles leaving the service, including Life Is Strange, its prequel Before the Storm, and two entries in the Mana series: Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana.

December 2024 Free Games Also Departing
In addition to the Game Catalog changes, the free PlayStation Plus games for December 2024 will also become unavailable in January. These titles, available to all PlayStation Plus subscribers regardless of tier, include It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem. These games will be removed on January 6th, 2025, while the Game Catalog titles listed above will depart a week later on January 14th, 2025.
January 2025 PlayStation Plus Games
As of this writing, Sony has not yet revealed the upcoming free PlayStation Plus games for January 2025. An announcement is expected sometime in mid-December. We will provide updates as soon as the information becomes available.
