Death Note: Killer Within, a social deduction game based on the hit anime and manga, launches on November 5th for PC, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. PlayStation Plus subscribers across all tiers will have access to the game on launch day. Cross-play is confirmed, but pricing details are yet to be announced by Bandai Namco. Interested players can wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store and Steam.
Also joining PlayStation Plus on November 5th are Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged and Ghostwire: Tokyo. These titles, along with Death Note: Killer Within, will be claimable by subscribers upon release.
Death Note: Killer Within immerses players in the world of Light Yagami, the teenager who discovers the Death Note, a notebook with the power to kill anyone whose name is written within its pages. The original story pits Light against L, the world’s greatest detective, in a thrilling battle of wits.
The game translates this tense dynamic into a social deduction experience for up to 10 players. Players become board game-like pieces, reminiscent of a high-stakes game of chess between Kira (Light) and L. Drawing inspiration from Among Us, players complete tasks and strive to identify the player wielding the Death Note.
Gameplay divides players into two teams: Kira’s followers and L’s investigators. Four distinct roles—Kira, L, Kira follower, and investigator—offer unique abilities. Kira collects IDs to use with the Death Note, while followers can even inherit the Death Note’s power. L’s team utilizes surveillance cameras and gathers information from NPCs.
The arrival of Death Note: Killer Within coincides with the addition of other titles to PlayStation Plus, including horror classics Dino Crisis and Siren, as well as Dead Island 2 and The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me.
This diverse range of games provides ample entertainment options for gamers of all preferences. For fans of social deduction and the Death Note universe, Killer Within promises a unique and engaging experience. Mark your calendars for November 5th and prepare to enter the world of Death Note.
