This upgrade will bring the PC experience closer to the Grand Theft Auto 5: Enhanced Edition, offering improvements such as finer textures and enhanced resolution.
These enhancements are significant for the GTA Online PC community, who have been playing a less advanced version compared to the current-gen consoles. While Rockstar hasn’t specified exactly which features will be included, the Enhanced Edition boasts upgrades like a Fidelity Mode targeting 30 fps with improved visuals and ray tracing, added in a subsequent update. This follows a previous update in September 2024 that integrated BattlEye Anti-Cheat software, addressing long-standing player concerns about cheating, albeit with the consequence of ending Steam Deck support.
This news comes alongside a wave of recent additions to GTA Online. Players can currently participate in a Halloween-themed event involving escaping UFO abductions and collecting spaceship parts. Additionally, Rockstar has introduced new vehicles, Job Creator updates, new Dispatch Work, and a new mission at the Darnell Bros Garment Factory, keeping the decade-old game fresh and engaging.
Despite the continuous updates and content drops, Rockstar remains silent on whether GTA Online will be integrated with Grand Theft Auto 6, slated for release in Fall 2025. While the future of GTA Online alongside GTA 6 remains unclear, the upcoming enhancements promise a significantly improved experience for PC players in the near future.
