Super Mario Party Jamboree, the latest installment in the beloved Mario Party franchise, has arrived on the Nintendo Switch, bringing a wealth of new boards, characters, and minigames. This comprehensive guide will show you how to quickly unlock all the hidden content and maximize your Jamboree experience.

Unlocking everything in previous Mario Party games often required extensive gameplay. Jamboree, however, makes unlocking new characters and boards surprisingly straightforward.

Unlocking Hidden Characters

Two mystery silhouettes tease unlockable characters on the initial character select screen. Instead of lengthy grinds, Jamboree lets you unlock these characters right away with a little exploration. The key is the hot air balloon and its zoom function.

Pauline, Mario’s original damsel in distress from the arcade classic Donkey Kong and the mayor of New Donk City in Super Mario Odyssey, awaits discovery. Use the hot air balloon to zoom in on the small sandbar located between the main Mario Party island and Minigame Bay. Interact with Pauline, and she’ll join your roster of playable characters.

Unlocking All Game Boards

Jamboree initially offers four playable boards: Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party, Rainbow Galleria, Goomba Lagoon, and Roll ’em Raceway. Three additional boards—Western Land, Mario’s Rainbow Castle, and King Bowser’s Keep—are initially hidden but visible on the main map.

  • Gold Rank (Level 20): Unlocks Mario’s Rainbow Castle board.
  • Platinum Rank (Level 30): Unlocks King Bowser’s Keep board and Boss Rush mode (located in Minigame Bay).
