2025 Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid driving on a road.
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid receives a notable refresh, focusing on improved technology and in-car experience. Building upon its popularity as a crossover SUV, this update brings a modern infotainment system, expanded software features, and subtle styling enhancements.
Tech Upgrades Take Center Stage
A key highlight of the 2025 Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is the new panoramic curved display. This integrated system combines a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, creating a sleek and modern look. An available 12.0-inch head-up display further enhances the driver’s access to information.

Connectivity is also significantly improved. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, addressing a previous limitation where customers had to choose between the two. Navigation instructions from these platforms can now be displayed on the head-up display. Over-the-air (OTA) updates enable seamless software improvements and feature additions. Hyundai Pay, allowing in-car payments for parking and fuel, is also being introduced with the 2025 Tucson. A 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot supporting up to five devices and Digital Key 2 Premium, enabling smartphone-based vehicle access, round out the connectivity upgrades.
Subtle Styling Tweaks
Hyundai has implemented minor exterior design changes. The grille and daytime running lights have been revised, moving from 10 smaller elements to eight larger ones. These updates are subtle, and differentiating the 2025 model from the previous generation might require a keen eye.

Familiar Powertrain, Enhanced Electric Motor
The 2025 Tucson Plug-In Hybrid retains the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and electric motor combination, powering all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. However, the electric motor receives a power boost, increasing total system output to 268 hp while maintaining the same 258 lb-ft of torque.

The 13.8-kWh battery pack remains unchanged. While official range figures are yet to be released, expectations are that the 2025 model will maintain a similar electric range to the 2024 model’s 33 miles. The 7.2-kW Level 2 AC onboard charger allows for a full recharge in under two hours, according to Hyundai.
Availability and Pricing
The 2025 Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid is slated to arrive at dealerships later this summer. Pricing details will be announced closer to the launch date. Hyundai views plug-in hybrids like the Tucson as a viable option for consumers who are not yet ready to transition to fully electric vehicles.
