Karma Automotive is partnering with New York City-based premium audio company Master & Dynamic (M&D) to enhance the in-cabin sound experience in two of its electric vehicles (EVs). This collaboration marks M&D’s first foray into designing a complete in-car sound system, promising a new level of audio quality for Karma drivers. M&D will also create exclusive “sound tools,” including wireless headphones, specifically for Karma.

This premium sound system will debut in the third-generation Karma Revero, slated for delivery later in 2024, and the highly anticipated $300,000 Karma Kaveya super-coupe. Current Karma Revero owners aren’t left out; they can access “Tune,” an over-the-air (OTA) audio upgrade that delivers M&D’s signature rich and warm sound profile to their existing vehicles. This marks a significant step, as it’s reportedly the first automotive OTA audio upgrade of its kind.
A New Era of Automotive Sound
Karma Automotive president Marques McCammon emphasized the craftsmanship of M&D as a key factor in the partnership. The “Tune” OTA upgrade for existing Revero owners offers a glimpse into the future of in-car audio for Karma. Interestingly, Karma previously collaborated with Sennheiser on a 3D sound system for the Revero GT plug-in hybrid, but that partnership has since ended.

Immersive Audio Experience
While details remain scarce, several press images reveal strategically placed M&D-branded speakers within the Karma Kaveya. However, key specifications like speaker count, amplifier power, and support for immersive audio formats like Dolby Atmos Music are yet to be revealed.

Joining the Ranks of Premium Automotive Audio
This collaboration underscores a growing trend of premium audio brands partnering with high-end automakers. Lucid Motors pioneered the integration of Dolby Atmos Music in a vehicle, Jeep’s Grand Wagoneer features a bespoke McIntosh system, and Audi has collaborated with Sonos. M&D is no stranger to such partnerships, having previously worked with Mercedes-AMG, Lamborghini, and Bugatti on co-branded wireless headphones and earbuds.
