Lucid has offered a shadowy glimpse of its upcoming electric crossover, slated to compete in one of the most fiercely contested EV segments. Positioned below the Gravity, this entry-level model is expected to carry a price tag of around $50,000.
The teaser image, posted on X (formerly Twitter), reveals the crossover’s silhouette, characterized by flowing lines. While distinct, the design incorporates familiar Lucid cues, including a prominent front end and a distinctive arch-shaped roof element. This unique aesthetic should help it stand out amongst competitors. The $50,000 price point places it squarely against rivals like the Audi Q4 E-Tron, the Mercedes-Benz EQB, and the Tesla Model Y. It will also contend with numerous gasoline-powered and plug-in hybrid crossovers, given the current average new car price hovering in the high $40,000s.
Lucid remains tight-lipped about powertrain specifics, but it’s anticipated that the crossover will feature a smaller battery pack and less potent motors compared to the seven-seater Gravity. Interestingly, Lucid claims the battery will also be smaller than competitors, yet offer comparable range due to efficiency-enhancing technology. This smaller battery promises advantages such as improved acceleration from reduced weight and faster charging times.
Production is scheduled to commence in late 2026, although the manufacturing location remains undisclosed. Further details are expected in the coming months. Intriguingly, Lucid’s X post hints at this crossover being “one of our upcoming midsize vehicles,” suggesting the possibility of a smaller model to rival the Tesla Model 3.
