Rivian introduces the Travel Kitchen, a portable induction cooktop designed for convenient roadside meals. Powered by the R1T and R1S EV battery packs, it offers a compact and eco-friendly alternative to traditional cooking methods.

Unlike its predecessor, the Camp Kitchen, which was exclusive to the R1T’s Gear Tunnel, the Travel Kitchen boasts broader compatibility. Its slim, foldable design allows it to be easily stored in the R1T’s Gear Tunnel or the frunk of both the R1T and R1S. This briefcase-sized package unfolds into a two-burner induction cooktop, ready for culinary adventures.

Designed for practicality, the Travel Kitchen sits securely on the tailgates of the R1T and R1S without requiring straps. It’s also adaptable for use on any stable tabletop surface. Powering the Travel Kitchen is simple, using either the R1 models’ built-in outlets or any standard 120-volt, 15-amp power source. The 1,500-watt capacity can power one burner fully or distribute power between both.

Rivian emphasizes the Travel Kitchen’s environmental benefits. Induction burners only generate heat when in contact with compatible cookware, eliminating the need for carbon-based fuels and reducing the risk of fire associated with open flames. This aligns with the eco-conscious nature of Rivian’s electric vehicles.

Furthering its commitment to sustainability, the Travel Kitchen incorporates materials derived from castor plants and recycled components for the attached cutting board. Practical features include a small drawer, a retractable handle that doubles as a towel holder, and integrated dimmable lights for convenient nighttime cooking.
