Royal Enfield will unveil its new electric motorcycle brand, Flying Flea, at CES 2025. The company also announced partnerships with Qualcomm and NDX, integrating cutting-edge technology into its upcoming electric motorcycles. This exciting new venture draws inspiration from Royal Enfield’s WWII lightweight motorcycles, also known as Flying Fleas, designed for parachute deployment and battlefield communication.

Why a Separate Brand?
Royal Enfield, a legacy motorcycle manufacturer with continuous production since 1901, is now a division of Eicher Motors Limited. While maintaining its British heritage, the company operates technical development centers in both the U.K. and India, with manufacturing based in India and assembly facilities across Asia and South America.
The Flying Flea brand strategically distinguishes the electric motorcycle line from Royal Enfield’s traditional combustion engine models. While several current Royal Enfield motorcycles retain the classic styling of the mid-20th century, Flying Flea represents a distinct focus on electric powertrains. This separation allows both brands to flourish, catering to different rider preferences and technological advancements.

The core values of Royal Enfield – simplicity, engagement, and riding enjoyment – will carry over to the Flying Flea brand. However, Flying Flea motorcycles will be exclusively battery-powered, blending classic design elements with innovative EV technology.

Flying Flea is committed to in-house development of its electric motor and battery technology, filing over 28 patent applications for both hardware and software. The brand has announced two models: the FF-C6, a classic-styled motorcycle, and the FF-S6, a scrambler.
While technical specifications remain limited, Flying Flea confirmed the integration of a Qualcomm processor specifically designed for two-wheeled vehicles. A rider-centric UI/UX will provide safety and entertainment features through a 3.5-inch round TFT display.
Flying Flea emphasizes rider personalization, promising “thousands of ride mode combinations” adjustable for power, regenerative braking, acceleration, ABS, and traction control, optimizing performance for individual riders and diverse terrains. Lean-angle-sensing ABS and convenient charging options are also mentioned. To minimize weight, the bikes will utilize forged aluminum frames and magnesium battery cases.
