Tesla Cybertruck Deliveries Paused Due to Windshield Wiper Motor Issues Tesla Cybertruck Deliveries Paused Due to Windshield Wiper Motor Issues

Tesla has reportedly suspended Cybertruck deliveries for approximately a week to address an emerging issue with the vehicle’s windshield wiper motor. This pause follows reports from online forums and Cybertruck owners detailing problems with the wiper’s functionality.

The Cybertruck Owners Forum highlighted the potential safety concern with the wiper motor, suggesting it as the reason for the delivery halt. While some customers confirmed receiving delivery delay notifications, Tesla has not officially confirmed the reason or the scope of the issue. Experiences among owners vary, with some reporting flawless wiper operation, while others have documented significant malfunctions.

One Florida-based owner described a harrowing experience where the wiper failed during a rainstorm, forcing them to seek roadside assistance. They reported having to wait for hours before being able to drive the vehicle safely. Another owner experienced a non-functional wiper from the time of purchase and is awaiting a service appointment, presumably for motor replacement, though Tesla has not explicitly confirmed this.

Tesla has not issued a public statement addressing the alleged wiper defect or announced any recalls. This is not the first hurdle the Cybertruck has faced since its initial deliveries in December 2023. In April, production was temporarily halted to rectify an issue with the accelerator pedal cover, which posed a risk of detaching and causing unintended acceleration. This led to a recall of nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks.

This recent wiper motor issue adds another chapter to the Cybertruck’s launch challenges, raising questions about the vehicle’s reliability and Tesla’s quality control processes. The automaker’s response and the resolution of this issue will be closely watched by both current and prospective Cybertruck owners.
