The highly anticipated Season 1.5 update for Marvel Rivals has arrived, completing the Fantastic Four roster with the addition of The Thing and Human Torch. This update not only introduces new characters but also significantly shifts the game’s meta with new gameplay features, maps, and hero adjustments. This mid-season refresh continues the Eternal Night Falls storyline from Season 1, offering players new quests, missions, rewards, and competitive ranks to pursue. Marvel Rivals The Thing and Human Torch
The Thing and Human Torch are ready to rumble, bringing with them new costumes, including Trench Coat and First Family for The Thing, and Negative Zone Gladiator and First Family for Human Torch.
New Maps, Modes, and Features
Season 1.5 introduces the Convergence map, Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park. Gameplay improvements include an additional 0.5 seconds of grace time at the end of overtime periods to prevent abrupt match endings. Quick Mode matchmaking for substitutes will no longer occur near the end of a match. Loading speed at the start of matches has also been optimized.
The Midnight Features II season event is now live, and the first round of Twitch Drops for Season 1.5 offers the “Two-in-One” spray and Hela’s “Great Galaxy” emote. A second round of Twitch Drops is planned for mid-season with a brand-new costume reward. Players who purchase the Luxury Battle Pass and redeem all rewards can now convert leftover Chrono Tokens for Units.

Ranked Mode Updates
Season 1 has been split into S1.0 and S1.5, with S1.0 concluding on February 21, 2025, at 8:00 AM (UTC+0). Rewards will be distributed accordingly. Players will retain their ranks from S1.0 in S1.5. The S1.5 Gold Rank costume rewards include Invisible Woman – Blood Shield and Human Torch – Blood Blaze. New Crest of Honor rewards for S1.5 are available for Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and Top 500 ranks. A “Hide Own Name (Competitive)” feature is now available for players at Diamond III and above.
General and Platform-Specific Updates
Several general updates have been implemented, including changes to the Career System, the addition of an account deletion option, and improved inactivity detection. Reticle customization changes will now automatically upload to server storage. Graphics settings have been optimized, and the Discord binding interface has been adjusted.
PC players can now take advantage of NVIDIA DLSS 4 with DLSS Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2 (for AMD Radeon RX 5000 Series or newer GPUs). AMD FSR3 Frame Generation frame pacing has also been fixed. Console updates include adjusted graphics settings for Xbox Series S, improved mail system navigation, and optimized aim assist.
Bug Fixes and Hero Adjustments
A wide range of bug fixes address issues related to UI prompts, reporting players, text, terrain, sound, Doom Match, Conquest mode, and hero SFX. Specific hero bugs related to Spider-Man, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, Loki, Mister Fantastic, Captain America, Squirrel Girl, Venom, Magneto, Cloak & Dagger, Peni Parker, Rocket Raccoon, Moon Knight, and Winter Soldier have been resolved.

Hero Nerfs and Buffs
Numerous heroes have received balance adjustments. Captain America gains enhanced survivability and smoother abilities. Doctor Strange, Magneto, and Magik see slight reductions in survivability. Groot’s threat range has been increased. Thor, Venom, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hela, Iron Fist, Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Moon Knight, Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, Storm, Adam Warlock, Cloak & Dagger, Invisible Woman, Loki, and Luna Snow also receive targeted adjustments. Several team-up abilities have also been rebalanced.
