A recent update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone aimed at fixing crashing issues has inadvertently created new problems, primarily affecting matchmaking. The update, released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and PC, addressed several bugs including game crashes tied to loading screens, but has now led to widespread matchmaking difficulties.

Initially, the update, detailed in the official patch notes, targeted five key issues: crashing during loading screens, bullet trajectory problems with the AMR Mod 4, functionality loss of field upgrades and killstreaks in Resurgence mode, invisible item models, and missing death icons in the Red Light Green Light mode. While these fixes were intended to improve gameplay, they appear to have triggered a new wave of server instability.

Players are now reporting significant difficulties connecting to matches in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone. Reports on platforms like Downdetector show a surge in connection problems following the update’s release. Furthermore, sources like Charlie Intel have highlighted further issues, such as Warzone Ranked Play players getting stuck under the map and experiencing other unusual glitches.

These matchmaking issues represent a significant setback for players, especially after the previous update aimed to resolve the game-breaking crashing problems. Activision has yet to officially acknowledge these new problems, but given the widespread reports, a response and hopefully a swift resolution are expected soon. In the meantime, players are left grappling with these connection problems, impacting their ability to enjoy both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
