Grand Theft Auto VI is already breaking records, and it hasn’t even been released yet. Poised to be not only the most anticipated video game release ever but also the most anticipated entertainment release in history, the wait has been excruciating for GTA fans. Ten years passed between GTA 5’s release and the first GTA 6 trailer last year, and now, over a year later, fans are still yearning for a second glimpse. No new screenshots, no teasers, nothing to satisfy the eager anticipation.
With the holiday season approaching, it’s unlikely a second trailer will drop in 2024. Most game studios are winding down for the holidays, making major announcements during this period rare.
This aligns with a recent rumor suggesting Rockstar Games will release the second GTA 6 trailer in Q1 2025, sometime between January and March.

Rockstar’s Uncharacteristic Silence
The gap between the first and (potential) second GTA 6 trailers marks the longest period Rockstar Games has ever gone without releasing new information or media for an upcoming title.
As noted by X user Detective, Rockstar Games released GTA 5 screenshots eight months after its initial trailer. Red Dead Redemption 2 received screenshots and news of a delay seven months post-reveal. GTA 6, in contrast, has remained shrouded in mystery for over a year.
Delay Speculation Intensifies
This silence fuels speculation and reports that GTA 6’s official 2025 holiday release date may be pushed back to 2026. Reports also suggest the game will be “less crude” towards minority groups compared to previous installments.
Anticipation Builds
GTA 6 is currently slated for a worldwide release during the 2025 holiday season on PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. For more GTA VI coverage, including the latest news, rumors, leaks, and speculation, click here. The wait continues, but the anticipation only grows stronger.
