Helldivers 2 players finally have their wish for character customization crossovers granted. A new DLC pack featuring items from Killzone 2 is now available, answering the longstanding community desire for crossover content.

Arrowhead Game Studios, the developers of Helldivers 2, officially announced the Killzone 2 collaboration in a recent Steam post. They emphasized that crossovers are implemented only when they fit the game’s universe, making this Killzone 2 collaboration a particularly exciting development.

The new Killzone 2 themed items can be found in the Superstore, Helldivers 2’s premium shop. Addressing previous player concerns regarding the rapid rotation of items in the store, especially for free-to-play users, Arrowhead is extending the availability of the Killzone 2 items. Each page of Killzone content will remain in the store for five days, giving players ample time to acquire them. While the regular rotation schedule will resume afterward, Arrowhead plans to gather player feedback on the extended availability period.

The first set of Killzone-themed items, including a new armor set, primary weapon, player banner, cape, and player title, is available now. A second set is scheduled to drop on December 23rd.

In addition to the Superstore content, Arrowhead hinted at a further Killzone 2 reward for all Helldivers players, tied to their performance in the Galactic War. The specifics of this reward remain undisclosed, but it presents an additional incentive for players to engage with the game’s strategic layer.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone, bringing elements of the 2009 classic, Killzone 2, developed by Guerrilla Games (also known for Horizon Zero Dawn), into the Helldivers 2 universe. Though Guerrilla Games has moved on from the Killzone franchise, this crossover provides a welcome nostalgic touch for fans of both series.
