Mecha BREAK, the upcoming multiplayer mecha action shooter from Amazing Seasun Games, made an appearance at The Game Awards 2024, revealing a spring 2025 release window for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The announcement also detailed post-launch plans and showcased a new PvPvE game mode.
At launch, Mecha BREAK will feature three core modes: the familiar 6v6 Battlefield and 3v3 Arena modes, previously available in beta tests, and a brand-new PvPvE mode. This innovative mode drops players onto a sprawling map populated by colossal boss mechs and fortified strongholds.
Players can cooperate to conquer strongholds and vanquish these formidable bosses, but the competitive element remains with the option to engage in player-versus-player combat. This mode will also introduce unique mechanics, such as scavenging for dropped weapons and customizing mech capabilities mid-match, focusing on either combat or healing roles. This gameplay will likely resonate with fans of extraction shooters like Escape from Tarkov, offering a fresh take on the mecha genre.
Beyond the launch content, Amazing Seasun has ambitious post-launch plans. A space station hub environment will be introduced, allowing players to explore areas like a mech hangar, a tactical command center, private living quarters, and a shooting range. The developers have also hinted at a future game mode where players can exit their mechs and continue fighting on foot, adding another layer of tactical depth.
While the game’s success upon release is paramount, the developers’ long-term vision for Mecha BREAK is promising. This dedication to expanding the game’s content and features suggests a commitment to building a thriving multiplayer community. Mecha BREAK is slated for release on PC and Xbox Series X/S in spring 2025. You can find more information on the game’s Steam page.
