The upcoming Pokémon Go season, starting December 3rd, promises exciting events, including a Raid Day focused on Necrozma and its powerful fusions. On December 14th, between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. local time, Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma will appear frequently in Raids. This event also offers an increased chance to encounter a Shiny Necrozma.
How to Obtain Necrozma Fusions
Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma debuted earlier this year. Trainers can’t directly catch these forms in Raids. Instead, successful Raids yield standard Necrozma and either Solar Fusion Energy or Lunar Fusion Energy. Combining these energies with Solgaleo or Lunala, respectively, along with 30 Cosmog Candies and 30 Necrozma Candies, allows players to create the desired fusion.

Why Necrozma Fusions are Worth the Effort
While the resource cost is significant, the benefits are substantial. Both Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Necrozma are formidable Pokémon, excelling in Raids and the Go Battle League. Their signature moves, Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam, further enhance their combat prowess. This power is a key reason for their return to the game.
Raid Day Bonuses
Niantic is offering bonuses to celebrate this Raid Day. From December 13th at 5 p.m. PT to December 14th at 8 p.m. PT, the Remote Raid limit will increase to 20. Players can also earn five additional Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms during the event.
Could More Fusions Be Coming?
The return of Necrozma’s fusions hints at the possibility of other Pokémon fusions appearing in Pokémon Go. The upcoming Dual Destiny season emphasizes the Unova region, which introduced the Kyurem fusions with Reshiram and Zekrom in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2. While these Pokémon exist in Pokémon Go, their fusion mechanic hasn’t been implemented. Necrozma’s fusion system could pave the way for Black Kyurem and White Kyurem to appear in the future.
