Eevee’s popularity within the Pokémon franchise is undeniable, rivaling even Pikachu as a brand mascot. With the upcoming Prismatic Evolutions Pokémon TCG set, 2025 was already promising to be a significant year for Eevee enthusiasts. However, The Pokémon Company has raised the stakes, declaring 2025 the “Year of Eevee” for the Pokémon Center, their merchandise hub. This announcement feels like a direct challenge to my financial stability.
Let’s be honest, the current economic climate makes managing finances a delicate balancing act. My primary goal this year, as an Eevee fan, was simply to complete my collection of Eeveelution Funko Pops. Eevee and its evolutions have held a special place in my heart since discovering one in the Pokémon Mansion during my Pokémon Blue playthrough. Like many Pokémon fans, I’m constantly battling the urge to acquire new merchandise featuring my favorites. This “Year of Eevee” campaign, quite frankly, feels overwhelming.
Eeveelution Funko Pops
As I write this, my Eevee, Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon Funko Pops stare back at me with their characteristic blank expressions. They seem to be asking, “Where are the rest of our family?” Indeed, I’ve yet to acquire the later additions to the Eeveelution lineup. Remarkably, these Funko Pops constitute my entire Eevee merchandise collection, aside from a few physical TCG cards. However, one look at the newly launched “Year of Eevee” page on the Pokémon Center website, and I know my resolve is crumbling.
New Eevee & Eeveelution Merchandise Previewed for 2025
The webpage currently showcases a series of Pokémon Dolls plushies, featuring chibi versions of each Eeveelution. With a mixture of relief and disappointment, I must report that Umbreon, my beloved Dark-type, is already sold out. Alarmingly, the others, including my second favorite, Vaporeon, remain in stock, tempting fans like myself to spend our hard-earned money on these adorable plushies instead of necessities like rent and groceries.

Evolving Personalities Figures and More
As if the plushies weren’t enticing enough, the Pokémon Center has teased additional merchandise. An “Evolving Personalities” figure line, showcasing each Eeveelution in dynamic poses, has been announced, with sneak peeks of the original three already available. Furthermore, the “Year of Eevee” page provides links to curated collections of existing merchandise for each Eeveelution. What’s an Umbreon fan to do but explore those options after discovering the plushie is unavailable?
Beyond the currently revealed merchandise, the webpage promises “tons of exclusive products to come in 2025” featuring Eevee and its evolutions. This implies that even if I successfully resist the urge to purchase these plushies and figures, my willpower and wallet will be continually tested throughout the year. In this economy? Seriously, Pokémon Center? (But please, don’t stop—my wallet might protest, but I certainly won’t).
