Intriguingly, the official Pokemon Go X/Twitter account is actively soliciting player input on which Pokemon they’d like to see highlighted next year. While Niantic hasn’t explicitly stated these suggestions will influence their decisions, the inclusion of the eyes emoji hints that player feedback might be considered.
Potential Community Day Pokemon for 2025
Given a franchise boasting over 1,000 Pokemon, achieving community consensus is challenging. Nevertheless, players have offered several interesting suggestions. Many are championing Pokemon introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, including Lechonk, Gimmighoul, and Smoliv, all currently available in Pokemon Go. Pawniard is another popular suggestion, potentially paving the way for Kingambit’s introduction.

One Pokemon stands out amidst the diverse suggestions: Mimikyu. This Ghost/Fairy-type is notably absent from Pokemon Go, despite the inclusion of numerous Alolan Pokemon. This omission is surprising, considering Mimikyu’s popularity, evidenced by its presence in avatar items and costumed Pokemon. Could 2025 finally be Mimikyu’s year, potentially marked by a dedicated Community Day event? Only time will tell.
Paldean Starters and Beyond
Sprigatito’s confirmation as a Community Day Pokemon strongly suggests that Fuecoco and Quaxly will also receive their own events in 2025. These Pokemon have garnered significant player requests on X/Twitter, and their inclusion aligns with Niantic’s established pattern of featuring all starter Pokemon from a specific region within a year. In 2024, the Alolan starters—Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio—were all highlighted. Similarly, 2023 showcased the Kalos starters: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. While the specific scheduling remains unknown, all three Paldean starters are likely to have their own Community Days.
Upcoming Community Day Events
Following Sprigatito’s Community Day on January 5th, a Community Day Classic event is scheduled for January 25th, followed by the season’s final Community Day on February 9th.
