Google has released a dedicated Gemini app for iOS, granting iPhone users free and direct access to the AI chatbot. Previously, iOS users could only interact with Gemini through the Google app or a web browser. This native app offers a streamlined experience and introduces features previously unavailable on iOS.

One key addition is Gemini Live, enabling voice conversations with the AI. This feature, new to the iOS ecosystem, offers 10 user-selectable voices and supports nearly a dozen languages, with plans to expand language support further. Android users have enjoyed this feature for some time, with a wider range of languages available.

iPhone users also gain access to Imagen 3, Google’s advanced image generation model. This allows users to create images from text prompts, leveraging Imagen 3’s enhanced photorealism and accuracy. The app also integrates with other Google services like YouTube, Google Maps, Gmail, and Calendar through the Extensions feature, providing a more cohesive user experience.

The Gemini app is now available for download on the App Store.
