AllTrails, a leading global outdoor navigation app with over 50 million users, has unveiled its new premium membership, AllTrails Peak. This advanced tier promises to revolutionize the hiking experience with AI-powered route planning, real-time trail conditions, and innovative features for enhanced safety and personalization.
Peak’s core functionality centers around custom route creation. Users can define start and end points, include points of interest, and then refine the route based on preferences like shorter distance, minimized elevation gain, or scenic views. This intelligent routing leverages AI to offer tailored options for each hike.
Beyond planning, Peak provides detailed real-time information on trail conditions, incorporating weather forecasts and even insect activity. A community heatmap displays trail popularity, helping users anticipate crowds and choose less-traveled paths. Future updates will include an “Outdoor Lens” feature, utilizing AI to identify plants and trees, further enriching the outdoor experience and promoting safety.

The existing AllTrails membership structure includes the free Base tier and the Plus tier. Base provides access to trail maps, community reviews, and on-trail navigation for over 450,000 trails globally. Plus offers offline exploration with downloadable trails and parks, wrong-turn alerts, 3D trail previews, and real-time trail activity sharing.
