Oppo’s upcoming Find N5 foldable is generating significant buzz, boasting a sleek design and potentially claiming the title of the world’s thinnest book-style foldable. Beyond its impressive form factor, the Find N5 features upgrades like a larger inner display, enhanced battery life, the latest chipset, and the addition of wireless charging. Weeks before its official launch, Oppo is teasing a new feature that allows users to control their Macs directly from the Find N5.

Chen Xi, Design Director for Oppo’s ColorOS team, recently showcased this functionality on Weibo. The video demonstrates the Find N5 folded in half, mirroring the macOS display on the top half and displaying a keyboard on the bottom half.

This feature, according to Xi, expands the capabilities of “O+ interconnection,” seemingly referring to O+ Connect. Currently, O+ Connect is an iOS app facilitating file sharing between Oppo and OnePlus phones with speeds comparable to AirDrop. This new Mac control feature adds remote desktop functionality, allowing users to not just mirror their Mac’s screen but also control it directly from the Find N5. It’s likely this will require both devices to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

It remains unclear whether this feature will be exclusive to China or available globally. If released internationally, it could also be accessible on the OnePlus Open 2, anticipated to be a rebranded Find N5 with similar software. Hopefully, Oppo and OnePlus will extend this functionality to older flagship devices as well.

More details are expected at the official Find N5 launch event on February 20th in Singapore. The OnePlus Open 2 launch should follow shortly after, although both devices are unlikely to be sold concurrently in the same regions. Oppo has already started teasing the foldable’s design and confirming key specifications. The Find N5 will launch alongside the Oppo Watch X3, which will also be rebranded as the OnePlus Watch 3 for different markets.
