The conversational AI, Gemini Live, continues to evolve since its debut. A recent beta release for Android (version 16.9.39.sa.arm64) introduces multilingual support, allowing users to select a second language within the app’s settings, as reported by Android Authority. This means users can seamlessly switch between two chosen languages during their interactions with Gemini Live.

This significant update enhances accessibility for a global audience. While the possibility of multilingual support was suggested in late 2024, this beta version marks the first time users can actively choose from a list of over 45 supported languages. This expanded language capability promises to make Gemini Live more inclusive and user-friendly for a diverse international user base.

Beyond multilingual support, Google is actively developing additional features for Gemini Live. One noteworthy addition is the upcoming ability to upload videos for AI analysis. This functionality will open up new avenues for user interaction, allowing for more dynamic engagement with the AI.

While these features are currently in development, Google has not yet announced an official release date. The expectation is that these advancements will further enrich the Gemini Live experience.

Initially launched as Bard, Gemini Live aims to create a more natural and engaging conversational experience with AI. By enabling spoken dialogue in addition to text-based prompts, Gemini Live seeks to mimic the fluidity of real-time conversations, offering users a more intuitive way to interact with technology.
