The iPhone 16 Pro has garnered considerable praise, but two of its key features, the camera and display, have also been the source of user complaints. Following recent reports of camera app glitches, a new issue has surfaced: a yellow tint affecting the display of some iPhone 16 Pro units.
Users have taken to online forums, including Apple’s official community discussions and Reddit, to voice their concerns. “I noticed that my iPhone has a yellowish display tint. Even with True Tone off and night mode off. I love the feel of this phone but the whites being yellow throws my experience off,” one user reported on Apple’s forum.

Yellow Tint and Color Distortion Concerns
The yellow tint issue appears to affect only a small number of devices, with some users comparing their affected iPhones to units with normal displays and noting a clear difference. One user stated, “So, I took it in to the Apple store to compare with the display models. These did not have any issues at all! So I sent mine back (bought online). Now I don’t know what to do.” Speculation suggests that early production batches or specific OLED panels might be responsible for the color discrepancy.
Another user claimed, “We tried every single setting and made all 4 phones have the exact same settings and two of the phones had a more yellow-ish weird color. We found that the two phones that have that horrible display color were made in August compared to the other two phones which were made in September.”

Beyond the yellow tint, some users have also reported an off-axis color shift, introducing a greenish hue to the display. “I have the same issue, tilting phone towards you, such as when opening control centre while holding phone in one hand, you notice this incredible color distortion on white backgrounds,” one Reddit user explained.
Apple’s Response and Potential Solutions
While Apple Store employees seem aware of the issue, there’s currently no official repair or replacement policy. Apple has yet to confirm whether the problem is hardware-related. One frustrated user shared, “Sadly none of the Apple employees I encountered do anything about it. They just tell me to return it and order a new one.” This isn’t the first time Apple has faced complaints about yellowish screens on iPhones.

Some users suggest disabling True Tone (Settings > Display > True Tone) to correct the color balance, but reports indicate this isn’t a guaranteed fix. Apple also offers color temperature adjustments and Night Shift, which might provide some relief. For those willing to explore further options, adjusting Color Filters or the White Point within Accessibility settings might be worth trying. However, these software adjustments likely won’t resolve the issue if it stems from a hardware defect.
