Recent reports indicate the iPhone SE 4’s release is just months away, bringing exciting news about Apple’s next budget-friendly smartphone. A recent supply report from Korea, covered by ET News, suggests the iPhone SE 4 will boast a significant camera upgrade.
The anticipated specifications reveal a 48-megapixel rear camera and a 12MP TrueDepth front camera. This marks a substantial improvement from the current iPhone SE 3, which features a 12MP wide camera and a 7MP front-facing camera. Korea-based LG Innotek is reportedly the primary supplier for both camera systems.
Apple typically releases a new iPhone SE model every three years, much like the iPad mini. This cadence builds anticipation, and the leaked specs suggest the iPhone SE 4 will be a noteworthy upgrade.
Recent rumors have hinted at several design and feature changes. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display, mirroring the iPhone 16, a significant increase from the iPhone SE 3’s 4.7-inch display. This larger screen aligns with current smartphone trends.

Furthermore, the iPhone SE 4 is predicted to finally adopt Face ID, transitioning from Touch ID. It’s also expected to include a USB-C port and an Action button, consistent with the iPhone 16 lineup.
Another potential milestone for the iPhone SE 4 is the inclusion of Apple’s in-house 5G chip. Following the 2019 acquisition of Intel’s modem business, Apple is anticipated to transition its devices away from Qualcomm’s 5G chips. The iPhone SE 4 might be the first to showcase this in-house technology.
However, as a budget-conscious device, the iPhone SE 4 might omit certain premium features to maintain affordability. Features like the Dynamic Island, Camera Control button, and support for Apple Intelligence might be absent.
The current iPhone SE launched in March 2022, and its successor is projected to be announced in the first half of 2025.
