Motorola kicks off 2025 with two new additions to its Moto G family: the Moto G Power 2025 and Moto G 2025. Both phones offer impressive features at budget-friendly price points, with the Moto G Power boasting exceptional water resistance.
The Moto G Power 2025 packs a punch with a large 6.8-inch display, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the display ensures durability. These premium features are remarkable for a $300 phone, especially with the addition of a stylish vegan leather finish. The audio experience is enhanced by Dolby Atmos support, delivering immersive sound with bass boost and hi-res audio capabilities.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the dual-camera system on the Moto G Power’s rear, featuring a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide and macro lens. The 16MP front-facing camera includes a new Face Retouch feature for automatic blemish and wrinkle reduction.

A massive 5,000mAh battery powers the Moto G Power, promising all-day battery life and beyond. Charging is swift with 30W TurboPower wired charging and convenient 15W wireless charging. Durability is further reinforced by MIL-STD-810H certification, allowing the phone to withstand drops from approximately 4 feet, extreme temperatures ranging from -4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, and humidity levels up to 95%.
The Moto G Power’s Unique Selling Point: IP68 and IP69 Water Resistance
Setting the Moto G Power apart is its IP68 and IP69 underwater protection. This level of water resistance is rarely seen in the $300 price range, making it a significant advantage. Currently, the OnePlus 13 is the only other mainstream phone with an IP69 rating, further highlighting the Moto G Power’s unique feature.
The Moto G 2025: A Solid Budget Option
While the Moto G Power shines with its exceptional water resistance, the standard Moto G 2025 also offers compelling features. It boasts a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits of brightness, and a water-repellent design thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The vegan leather finish adds a touch of premium aesthetics. Similar to the Moto G Power, the Moto G also includes Dolby Atmos, bass boost, and hi-res audio for an enhanced sound experience.
