Motorola expands its flip phone lineup with the Razr Plus 2025, joining the entry-level Razr and the flagship Razr Ultra 2025. While the Razr Plus held the top spot in previous years, the Ultra now claims that title. This hands-on preview explores what the Razr Plus 2025 offers and how it distinguishes itself.
Moto Razr Plus 2025 vs Razr Plus 2024
Familiar Design and Powerful Performance
At first glance, the Razr Plus 2025 is nearly identical to its predecessor. It retains the vibrant 4-inch Cover Display with a 22:9 aspect ratio, 165Hz dynamic refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 2,400 nits. The unfolded 6.9-inch pOLED display also boasts HDR10+, a 165Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 3,000 nits peak brightness.
Internally, the Razr Plus 2025 is powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor as the 2024 model, coupled with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5G sub-6 (no mmWave support, a trend among several manufacturers). The battery remains at 4,000 mAh, supporting 45W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse wireless charging (charger not included). The reliable side-mounted fingerprint reader also makes a return.

Enhanced Durability and Smoother Crease
A key upgrade in the Razr Plus 2025 lies in its enhanced durability. The new titanium hinge, though not visually apparent, is four times stronger than the previous stainless steel hinge, allowing the phone to withstand up to 35% more folds. Motorola also employed a new ultra-thin glass, resulting in a 30% smoother display and crease. Gorilla Glass Victus continues to provide scratch and wear resistance. The folding angle has also been adjusted for improved longevity.

Familiar Colors and Camera System
The Razr Plus 2025 carries forward Motorola’s tradition of vibrant colors, though with fewer options than the 2024 model. The available colors are Midnight Blue, Hot Pink, and Mocha Mousse (Pantone Color of the Year). While these colors were available on the 2024 version, the finish has been subtly refined.
The camera system remains unchanged, featuring a 50MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture and quad pixel technology, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 32MP selfie camera. The 2024 model’s camera performed well in various lighting conditions, and similar performance is expected from the 2025 version.
