The highly anticipated OnePlus 13R, successor to the OnePlus 12R, is expected to launch soon in 2025. Recent leaks from tipster @MyseryLupin offer a glimpse of the upcoming device, potentially revealing its design and color options.
Design and Color Options
The OnePlus 13R is rumored to be a rebranded version of the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 5. However, leaked images suggest a potential departure in color options. While the Ace 5 is available in green and gold, the 13R might launch in black or dark gray variants. TechRadar notes the possibility that the leaked images don’t represent the full range of color options. Previous rumors hinted at “Nebular Noir” and “Astral Trail” as potential colorways.

Camera Upgrades
A key difference between the Ace 5 and the 13R appears to be the rear camera setup. The 13R is expected to boast a triple-lens system, comprising a 50MP primary lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. This contrasts with the Ace 5, which features a 2MP macro lens instead of the telephoto. Both models are rumored to share a 16MP front-facing selfie camera.
Battery Capacity
A slight difference in battery capacity is also anticipated. The 13R is expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery, slightly smaller than the 6,415mAh battery in the Ace 5. It remains to be seen how this difference will impact real-world battery life. The OnePlus 12R, for comparison, features a 5,500mAh battery.

Launch and Expectations
The OnePlus 13R is expected to be unveiled alongside the OnePlus 13 on January 7th. Given that both predecessors, the OnePlus 12R and OnePlus 12, are considered among the top Android phones of the year, expectations are high for these upcoming devices.
