Samsung is gearing up to release its new budget-friendly Galaxy Tab S10 FE series tablets, expanding the “Fan Edition” family. However, these upcoming slates may test the loyalty of Samsung enthusiasts with a potential price increase.

Leaked pricing information suggests a minimum price jump of $50 compared to the previous generation. Here’s a breakdown of the purported pricing structure:

  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE (8GB RAM /128GB storage) – $499
  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE (12GB RAM / 256GB storage) – $569
  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (8GB RAM /128GB storage) – $649
  • Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ (12GB RAM / 256GB storage) – $749

Is the Upgrade Worth the Extra Cost?

The base Galaxy Tab S FE launched at $450 with 6GB of RAM. While the Galaxy Tab S10 FE starts at a higher price point, it offers a significant upgrade to 8GB of RAM, potentially justifying the increase for some users.

The higher-end model also receives a RAM boost from 8GB to 12GB, while storage remains at 256GB. This upgrade, however, also comes with a $50 premium.

The Galaxy Tab S9 FE Plus debuted at $600, while its successor, the Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus, is rumored to start at $650. Disappointingly, despite the price hike, the Plus variant doesn’t seem to offer any RAM or storage upgrades.

Furthermore, leaked renders indicate that the Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus will feature one less rear camera than its predecessor, adding another potential drawback for prospective buyers.

What Can We Expect from the Galaxy Tab S10 FE Series?

Samsung appears to be sticking with a familiar all-metal design and flat sides. This year, the screen size is getting a bump, similar to the iPad Air. The Galaxy Tab S10 FE+ is expected to feature a 13.1-inch display, slightly larger than Apple’s mid-range tablet.

It’s unclear whether an OLED display upgrade is on the horizon, but given the tablet’s market positioning, it seems unlikely. Under the hood, Samsung is reportedly opting for the in-house Exynos 1580 processor.

Benchmark leaks suggest the Exynos 1580 performs approximately 32% faster in the Galaxy Tab S10 FE series than the Exynos 1380 found in the Galaxy Tab S9 series. Early comparisons indicate the Exynos 1580, as seen in the Galaxy A56, outperforms Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in single-core performance but lags behind in multi-core workloads.

Both Galaxy Tab S10 FE variants will offer stylus support and 45W wired charging, the fastest currently available from Samsung. While other specifications remain under wraps, recent regulatory database appearances hint at an imminent official launch.
