Asus has launched a new monitor series, the VU Air Ionizer, that integrates air purification technology directly into the displays. This innovative approach aims to enhance both visual experience and workspace health. The series includes three models: the 23.8-inch VU249HFI-W, the 27-inch VU279HFI-W, and the 34-inch VU34WCIP-W.
Asus claims the built-in “VU Air Ionizer” can eliminate up to 90% of airborne dust and pollutants within one cubic meter over a three-hour period. This feature targets users working in dusty environments, potentially offering a cleaner breathing space. However, the overall effectiveness of air ionization technology continues to be a topic of discussion.
The VU249HFI-W and VU279HFI-W boast 1920 x 1080 IPS panels with a 100Hz refresh rate and a 1ms MPRT (Moving Picture Response Time). They offer a 1300:1 contrast ratio and 250 nits of brightness. For a more immersive experience, the VU34WCIP-W features a 3440 x 1440 VA panel with a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio, also with a 100Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT. This model delivers a 3000:1 contrast ratio and 300 nits of brightness, ideal for content requiring deep blacks and high contrast. All three monitors support Adaptive Sync for smoother gameplay and video playback.

Beyond the integrated air purifier, the monitors also offer features like SmoothMotion technology for reducing motion blur and Color Vision Deficiency modes to cater to users with color blindness.
