Dell is expanding its monitor lineup beyond gaming with the new Dell Plus 32 4K QD-OLED, a high-end OLED monitor designed for consumers and creators. Announced ahead of CES 2025, this monitor signifies a shift in Dell’s strategy, offering premium display technology at a surprisingly accessible price.
Previously, OLED monitors outside of gaming were limited and exorbitantly priced. Options like the Asus ProArt PA32DC and LG UltraFine Display Pro OLED carried price tags exceeding $3,000. Even mini-LED alternatives such as the Apple Pro Display XDR and Lenovo ThinkVision Extreme were significantly more expensive.

The Dell Plus 32 distinguishes itself with a sleek, modern design. Its minimalist stand, fabric-covered bottom bezel, and integrated speakers contribute to a stylish aesthetic suitable for any home office or creative workspace. This design philosophy marks a departure from the more utilitarian appearance of many existing high-end monitors.
However, the true highlight is the QD-OLED display technology. This marks Dell’s first foray into OLED outside of its Alienware gaming brand. The Dell Plus 32 4K QD-OLED offers stunning visuals with vibrant colors and deep blacks, addressing a significant gap in the market for affordable, professional-grade OLED monitors.

At $800, the Dell Plus 32 4K QD-OLED significantly undercuts the competition. This price point aligns with current OLED gaming monitors but is remarkably competitive for a consumer-focused OLED display. It also boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, exceeding the 60Hz of older professional OLED models.
Dell isn’t alone in introducing non-gaming OLED monitors at CES 2025. Samsung also unveiled its 4K OLED Smart Monitor using the same QD-OLED panel. However, the Dell Plus 32 incorporates some unique features that set it apart.

One standout feature is the implementation of beamforming technology for virtual surround sound. Utilizing built-in 5-watt speakers, AI, and head-tracking, the Dell Plus 32 creates an immersive audio experience. While demonstrated with movies and games, a standard stereo mode is available for music and group listening.
The monitor also offers a versatile port selection. While the rear features HDMI 2.1 and two 90-watt USB-C ports for laptop charging, a pop-down module provides additional USB ports, including a 15-watt USB-C port ideal for charging mobile devices.

The success of the Dell Plus 32 could pave the way for OLED integration in other Dell monitors. Interestingly, despite its superior display technology, the Dell Plus 32 is positioned below the UltraSharp line. Dell continues to utilize its enhanced IPS Black technology in new UltraSharp monitors like the U3225QE and U2725QE, which offer improved contrast and deeper blacks compared to conventional IPS displays.
The Dell Plus 32 4K QD-OLED is scheduled for release on March 22 worldwide, with a slightly later launch date of March 27 in China. While full specifications are yet to be released, the Dell Plus 32 promises to be a game-changer, bringing high-quality OLED technology to a wider audience.
