One key improvement is the addition of delivery estimates directly on the product card. Shoppers will now see an estimated delivery date for each listing, along with clear information on whether shipping is free or incurs an additional charge.
To further refine search results, eBay has implemented new shipping filters. Under the “Shipping and pickup” section, users can filter for free delivery or items arriving within 2-4 days. This functionality echoes similar features offered by competitors like Amazon, allowing shoppers to prioritize speedy delivery.
These filters provide three key options: free shipping, fast shipping (2-4 days), and local pickup. This latter option allows buyers to filter for listings offering local pickup within a specified distance. This is particularly beneficial for used goods, as it allows buyers to inspect the item in person before purchasing. eBay displays the seller’s distance, enabling buyers to assess the feasibility of local pickup. Currently available in Germany, this badge replaces older certifications like “eBay Plus” and highlights sellers meeting specific trust and performance criteria. This aims to help buyers easily identify businesses offering high-quality retail standards, including fast and free shipping, free returns, and a proven track record of trustworthiness.
