The Intel Arc B570 GPU, slated for a January 16 launch, has surprisingly shipped early to a customer in Germany, sparking excitement and speculation about its performance. This comes hot on the heels of the Arc B580 release, a popular choice for budget gamers. How will the B570 measure up?
Early product listings and preorders are common, often without actual stock availability until the official release date. However, this situation is different. German retailer Mindfactory prematurely listed the ASRock Challenger Arc B570, and at least one customer received their order well ahead of schedule.
A user known as Cross-Flow on the PC Games Hardware forum detailed their experience with the early arrival. With no official B570 drivers yet released, they resourcefully installed B580 drivers, overcoming checksum errors to get the card operational. The system recognizes the card as a B580, but specifications confirm it’s the B570.

While GPU-Z reports 10GB of VRAM (consistent with the B570), only 15 of the expected 18 Xe cores are detected. Despite this, Cross-Flow successfully ran games like World of Warcraft Classic and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, along with a multi-monitor setup and AMD FreeSync.

With more B570 GPUs expected to arrive soon, performance leaks are likely imminent. However, without an official lift on the review embargo, comprehensive reviews won’t be available until the official January 16 launch date. The early arrival of the B570 and its successful operation, albeit with a workaround, generates anticipation for its official release and performance benchmarks.
